Galatians: Sermon 6

Sermon text: Galatians 4:1-11

Sermon outline

Main idea: If we have been redeemed and adopted by God, we ought to live like free children rather than slaves.

  • Everyone needs redemption because everyone is a slave (4:1-3).
  • Our redemption is planned, accomplished, and applied by God (4:4-6).
  • The redeemed are adopted as God’s rightful heirs (4:7).
  • If we reject the freedom offered by God, we remain slaves (4:8-11).

Unfortunately, this sermon failed to be recorded properly and is unavailable online. The title was “Adoption by the Triune God.”

  1. Chandler, I appreciate receiving the sermons by email. I enjoy your approach to preaching, the method I used for 40 years as pastor — point development highlighting the truths of a passage. The pastor we called is a wonderful man, but I am disappointed in his style of phrase by phrase exposition that gives no structure on which to hang the truths. After 30 minutes of this kind of exposition, I can’t remember much of what he said (maybe its just my age) (: . You may not remember me. I am worship pastor at FBC Mena. I was blessed to have met you and your wife and was disappointed that God had other plans for you than becoming our pastor. I pray God is blessing abundantly in your ministry.

    1. Vernon, thanks for your kind comment. My wife and I were impressed with your church. If the Lord had not been working to call us where we are now, I’m sure we would have enjoyed a wonderful ministry with your church. I pray the Lord is blessing you all.
